PRESS CONFERENCE - AUGUST 17, 2 P.M., 3 WEST 51ST ST., NY, NY MAGGIE’S LIST ENDORSES WENDY LONG FOR U.S. SENATE (NY)

Maggie’s List will formally endorse Wendy Long, Candidate for U.S. Senate (NY), on Wednesday, August 17, at 2 p.m. at 3 West 51st Street in Manhattan. Representatives of Maggie’s List will be joined by former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (NY), who is an active supporter of Maggie’s List and women running for office. At 53%, women represent the majority of voters. Yet, women continue to be significantly underrepresented in Congress. Maggie’s List was founded in 2010 to increase the number of conservative women elected to the U.S. House and Senate through formal endorsement and financial assistance. Maggie’s List is named after Margaret Chase Smith (ME) who was the first women to be elected to both houses of Congress. Media frequently mentions Emily’s list while ignoring Republican PACS including Maggie’s List. Since 2010, Maggie’s List has endorsed many successful women running the first time for Federal office including Senators Ayotte, Capito, Ernst, and Fischer, and Congresswomen Brooks, Hayworth, Love, McSally, Noem, and Walters. Wendy joins a growing list of great conservative women running across the country whom have been been endorsed by Maggie’s List (maggieslist.org) in the 2016.

Wendy Long is waging a courageous campaign against incumbent Senator Chuck Schumer. She has the fortitude to take on the Democrats and realizes that Senator Schumer must not be elected and have the ability to follow in Nancy Pelosi’s footsteps to lead the Democrats. Wendy is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and served as a clerk for Judge Ralph K. Winter at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Wendy practiced as a litigation partner at a New York law firm and then served as general counsel of the Judicial Confirmation Network. Wendy and her husband, Arthur, live in Manhattan. Further information about Wendy’s campaign is available on her website.
