“I have been noticing lately the different effects that lying can have on different people,” Long said at the Conservative Party of New York convention, where Donald Trump also spoke.

Each election year, the Washington County Tea Party Patriots conduct a straw poll at their booth, asking those who stop by who they plan to vote for. This year’s poll was for both the presidential election and the senate election. The Republican nominee won each by a large margin.

I tweeted some photos reflecting what I saw and heard from citizens, in no particular order. Reporter Mark Weiner then wrote a story that opened with a lie, magnified by the headline writer, that I “linked rising crime with” the mosque that now occupies the former Holy Trinity Church.

WASHINGTON — Republican Wendy Long charged Thursday that her Democratic opponent, Sen. Chuck Schumer, has engaged in “pay to play” by raising campaign funds from developers who benefit from the federal immigrant investor program.
Schumer has raised $1 million from real estate interests since 2011, including a law firm with a prominent practice in the EB-5 visa program that has contributed $82,200 to his campaign fund, according to a Long news release. It did not include a specific case.
