New York, NY — Wendy Long, the Republican and Conservative Party nominee for U.S. Senate in New York, today made the following statement:

“Another day, another story about how Chuck Schumer is bought and paid for.  A House oversight committee has uncovered that Schumer donor and Mylan CEO Heather Bresch misled Congress about the profitability of Epipen.

“Don’t count on any investigation or criticism from Chuck Schumer, though.  With all the things he loves to stand in front of a podium and talk about, it’s interesting that he gets paid to keep his mouth shut about things that actually affect the pocketbooks and health of ordinary working people.

“He apparently did not like my suggestion that he disgorge the maximum donations he received in June from both Bresch personally and from Mylan’s PAC.  This kind of corruption goes on every day, so he apparently thinks it is no big deal.

“Well, it is a big deal to the American people who want honest government back again.  They are sick of the tired old Establishment game that those in power in Washington play.  And no one plays it more than Chuck Schumer.

“I am also calling upon the media to report on this story.   A new TV superpac ad running in New York shows that Schumer is the preferred candidate of Big Media.  Let’s see if the news media are independent enough to even report on how he is bought and paid for. ”
